Description - Hostel

We are located about 10 minutes walk to the famous Canterbury Cathedral and the Town Center , situated in a quiet residential area of Canterbury.

Set in a beautiful 120 year old town house, we offer a wide range of budget accommodation from dormitory rooms to single and double/twin rooms, - suitable for both groups and individuals.

A Short bus/ train ride will also take you to attractions like Dover Castle, Leeds Castle and Dover Cross Channel Port for easy day trips to France.

Check in time on your arrival date is after 2pm!

Important Information.
Under 16s are not allowed in dormitory rooms, even if accompanied by an adult. You will need to book a private room. You will not be checked in to the hostel, so please do not reserve a dormitory room if you have children under 16 years of age.


A Dormitory room means - Shared accommodation, and not a private room

Our double and single rooms are not en-suite and the bathrooms are shared

We are not a party hostel, and do not advertise ourselves as a party hostel. So please do not book the hostels if your intentions are to Visit the City - just to Party ! There are other hostels who will welcome these type of groups and we can give you their contact information.
If you are a group 6+, you will need to book direct with the hostel by email or telephone, as certain conditions will apply. If you do book online, your reservation could be cancelled and any deposits paid will not be returned. We have to consider all guests staying at the hostel, as we want to offer a nice homely, comfortable & relaxing atmosphere for all guests staying at Kipps Hostels .

How to get there

FROM THE BUS STATION.
National Express buses run from London Victoria coach station,
Dover and other locations in the South East to Canterbury bus station.
From Canterbury bus station, head west on St Georges Lane and turn left onto Watling Street . Use the underpass to Old Dover Road. (3rd exit)
Walk along Old Dover Road ( you will see the Police Station on your right)
Turn right onto Nunnery Fields at the traffic lights. Kipps is half-way up the hill on the left.

(Approx walk, 10 minutes or £4-6 for taxi)

FROM CANTERBURY EAST STATION.
(This is the closest station to the hostel)
Turn right out of station on Station Road E and look for the sign that says 'Hospital and Colleges' and follow the footpath (along Rhodaus Close). Walk over the railway bridge. (halfway up on your right)

At the end of the path turn left on to Oxford Road and then left again at Norman Road . At the top of Norman Road turn right into Nunnery Fields, We are just up the road on the left.

Walking Distance. Approx 9mins
(Approx 5 minute walk or £5. 00 for a taxi)

FROM CANTERBURY WEST STATION
Turn right out of station, and then left onto St. Dunstan's Street.
Walk through the West Gate Towers

Then walk to the end of the main high street to the bus station (St Georges Street). At the roundabout, take the underpass - 2nd exit onto Upper Bridge
Turn left onto Dover Street, which leads onto Oaten Hill .

Walk Up Oaten Hill and cross the traffic lights leading onto Nunnery Fields.
The hostel is halfway up on the left
