Besides of the cleaning and location, in Footsteps Backpackers we are interested that you would also really rest whenever you wish. We are located in a peaceful street isolated from traffic and rooms are apart from common and relaxation areas, so you can have a quiet sleep at any moment.
Not only the neighborhood is one of the safest of Santiago, but also our Hostel. For your safety, we keep a security box to keep your valuables and we have security cameras.
Footsteps Backpackers has a multicultural staff, speaking english, german and portuguese (and several Ghana dialects). We will be concerned that your stay is amusing, pleasant and easy going. We will help you organize your city tours, as well as giving the alternatives to go round Santiago and to the rest of Chile!!

Providencia is on one of the most traditional, safest and near neighborhoods in Santiago. It is located at walkable distances of every attractions in the City, including Parque Metropolitano, the largest park; Museo de Bellas Artes; Bellavista, the boheme neighborhood; and many others. | | Directions | As we are in the geographic center - the best location - you can get to us almost by every way:
By Bus: from the airport take de CENTROPUERTO bus (about USD 2), it will leave you in Los Heroes Metro Station, then hop on Metro to Baquedano Station (Line 1, red one). We are just 130 footsteps from the South exit heading through Ramon Carnicer Street. Get to Almirante Simpson on your right. This is the cheapest way to get to us.
By Shuttle: just by the luggage pick-up ask for us in TurBus Shuttle Service or TransVip. All of them know us as Footsteps Backpackers (ex Hostel Chile). They can provide you transportation to our hostel for about USD 9.
By Taxi: at the airport you can take any taxi to get to Plaza Italia, the geographic center. Be aware, it shouldnt cost you more than USD 30 the ride (and thats even a bit high).
By Pick Up: if you do not like any of the means above we will be happy to arrange you door-to-door transportation if you e-mail us in advance (a couple of days will be enough).
