Overview |
 | Set high on the hills above sleepy Soufriere, you feel as though you are quite simply on top of the world. This is a working cocoa and citrus plantation and not just a stop off for tourists. The fabulous location allows you to really experience what it is like to live and work on the land in St. Lucia. | | If you manage to drag yourself away from the refreshing pool and the hypnotic views, you can help feed the baby goats. Take a guided tour of the estate and learn how tropical fruits are grown and processed. With spectacular views of St. Lucia's famous twin peaks, the Pitons (World Heritage Site), Caribbean Sea, the sulphur springs and Soufriere valley, La Haut is ideal for the nature-lover. Whether it is climbing the Gros Piton, or the more challenging Petit Piton, walking in the rain forest, bathing in the therapeutic waters of the sulphur springs or visiting one of the many waterfalls in the area, all of these are either a short walk or drive away from La Haut. Snorkeling at the Hummingbird, Anse Chastanet and Jalousie Hilton beaches and scuba diving under the Pitons are rated as the best on the island. Are you an avid bird watcher, go no further? Our bird watchers have identified 29 species in the area, many seen right from their room balcony. | | Family-owned and managed, this is a relaxed, informal place (where you can pot a few snooker balls, play the old piano and then sample the restaurant's famous fishcakes). A must for nature-lovers and ideal for couples, a group of friends or families - you can reserve an individual room or book the whole place, sleeping 20. | | Thinking of getting married, or getting married in the area and want that special place for a wedding ceremony, reception, rehearsal dinner or family get together. Ask us. Great ambiance, views, delicious food, and friendly staff - all contributes to that memorable occasion. |
