spent a memorable 2 weeks at praia serena. the rooms were comfortable and the food fresh, plentiful and beautifully presented.
our host and hostess know the area well and told us of all the ineresting places we should see in paratay.
simon also took us on adventurous trips to out of the way spots that we could never have found alone.
warm sea, luscious forests and incredible waterfalls - what more could you ask.

We booked into Praia Serena for three nights but ended up staying for four. It´s a spotlessly clean family-run pousada with the best breakfast we´ve had so far in South America (fresh fruit, homemade bread, cakes, cereal etc). The owners were extremely welcoming and went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our stay. It´s about a 15 or 20 minute walk to Paraty old town and there are a number of restaurants a few minutes walk from Praia Serena. We would definitely recommend this place.

My sister and I went to Brazil for the first time on a very limited budget.
We were a bit nervous about traveling to a country where we didn't know a soul or the language.
We spent the first 5 nights and had a fantastic time. Everything was so effortless and relaxing. The hotel staff was lovely and friendly and always there when needed. The breakfast and lunches were delicious - the staff would come to you on the beach and take your order for lunch. The day we arrived we were treated to complimentary drinks. The hotel beach was gorgeous with beautiful clear blue water - it was the nicest beach we saw on the island. We visited a public beach another day that had rave reviews but it was completely crowded. There are lots of great restaurants within walking distance from the hotel so we never had to travel far which added further to our relaxed state!. The hotel room was lovely; the decor is clean and simple though it was very small for the price. Still, I think it was worth paying the extra to have such a lovely quiet B&B with an amazing pool.
