Amigos Hostel Cozumel

Amigos Hostel Cozumel, originally opened in 98 as Amigo’s B&B Cozumel, is 5. 5 city blocks from the turquoise blue water Cozumel is famous for, located in a residential area and is set in a large tropical fruit garden. Upon opening the gated entrance, you will be greeted by friendly staff following the COVID 19 protocols. Your temp will be taken, hand sanitizer given as well as other requirements. A large multilevel freshwater pool awaits you. Each of the two mixed dorms has total of 4 bunks for a max of 8 people each in the dorm. Lower beds have privacy curtains. Each dorm has a private bath with hot water shower, plus an additional sink outside the bathroom, thus allowing someone to brush their teeth while another is showering. Large lockers (big packs fit in these!) Ceiling fans and screen entrance door allow fresh air to circulate. During the warmer months of May to October from 10pm to 8 am AC is on. For those that like to read while in bed, we loan out free of charge clip on reading lamps. Each dorm has lots of charge plugs for your gadgets. Blankets and extra pillows available upon request.

The communal lounge is where you will find large pool table, darts, table games, books, TV with local cable (ask for it to be set up!), list of DVDs (player too!), and lots of travel info. The communal kitchen is near the lounge area and has a gas stove/oven, refrig, microwave, toaster, toaster oven, coffee maker, blender and more. Tea and coffee is available 24/7 ! All pots and pans to make a delicious meal are at your disposal as well. In the garden there is a covered area (designated smoking area) where a large charcoal barbeque grill) made of cement and brick is available for your use.

The hostel has one private room which consists of three single beds, a complete kitchenette, private bathroom, safety deposit box, AC, and ceiling fan. With prior notice, the room can be converted to a KING bed instead of three singles should a couple be traveling together. There is an additional full bathroom in the lounge area, as well as a half bath near the pool. So, there is never a line to use the facilities. Free Wi Fi through out the grounds. On site are two older bicycle to use to run to the store or about town. Also available snorkel gear for rental. We can arrange all scuba diving, snorkeling, moped and car rentals too!

Keep in mind Kathy is also a critical care nurse, and now is applying all that knowledge to making sure Amigos Hostel respects the recommendations to keep you healthy. She continues to stay current in protocols and disease transmission by attending online seminars and courses offering these topics.
