J’ai réservé cet auberge en me fiant sur les photos...un peu comme tout le monde. Malheureusement, l’état de la chambre et surtout de la salle de bain étaient vraiment déplorables. Le plancher de la chambre était tellement sale que nos souliers collaient au sol. La douche pleine de moissisures, et je ne parle pas de la brosse à laver la cuvette qui était vraiment dégoutante. J’ai souvent louer des chambres en auberge de jeunesse et je ne cherche pas la déco ou le confort absolu, juste un minimum de propreté. J’avais payé en totalité avant de voir la chambre...chose à ne pas faire car le propriétaire a refusé de nous remboursé en totalité et nous avons du trouvé un autre hôtel à la derniere minute. Je vous déconseille fortement cet endroit.

Comments (English):
One of the worst hostels I ever been. Not too close to Downton, not the cleanest or newest places. It was kind of old and requires to be maintained. Creaking doors, noisy air conditioning, dirty walls, floors and windows... sorry but I definitely wouldn't come back.

The AC was broken in the main building for my entire stay. They were able to move me to a building out back with working AC, but only after I asked, and there was limited space there--several others had to suffer through the heat. It's pretty unacceptable for a Louisiana hotel in late July, a legitimate safety issue--I don't see why they wouldn't have done everything in their power to get it fixed as soon as it broke. I'd recommend the IHSP French Quarter House instead, where I spent my other two nights--it's a similar price, though you have to account for parking, and everything was working the whole time.

Two of the employees told me two different check-in times. The bedrooms are hot as hell with five other bodies in there. No amenities.

Decent price but the bathroom shared between 2 rooms was never cleaned during the 5 days we stayed there. The hand-drying towel wasn't changed the whole time, even though there were 6+ people using that bathroom. Gross!
The one plus was the location. Very nice neighborhood in the lower garden district.

I was not staying at the Atlas, I was in the place in the morning to know the place and did not return to the hotel again. I preferred to stay somewhere else.

Comments (English):
We were struggling find accommodation during the French quarter fest and managed to get a night in a twin room in the outhouse at Atlas House. Great location but that's about it. The room was dirty as was the bathroom, smelled musty and damp and the guy who checked us in seemed totally disinterested and bored. The room had to accessed through a dorm room which also wasn't ideal. For $220 (yep!!) we didn't even get our towels included. Really wouldn't recommend it unless it is your only option.
