this hotel is more like a hostel, but we were very satisfied with our choice. the rooms are overall very clean espcially the bed (sheets has been changed everyday) and the bathroom. the hotel staff is very friendly. the location is just great. right in front of your door are nice restaurants and bars. it is right at the Istiklal Caddesi, the famous street for shopping and entertainment, and close to the Taksim Square. You can reach everywhere of Istabul very easily from here. Overall I just can recommand this hotel, especially for low budget tourists.

Over the last 15 years i travelled a lot around the world. I have seen all kinds of places. Istanbul is a western city, the hotel Sen Palas is not.

When i arrived, they did not know i was coming, i think, because there was no room ready. They had to clean it, i had to wait 5 minutes (how can you clean a room good in 5 minutes?). Then we went upstairs, with the elevator. De guy who insisted on helping me, took mij bag and did not pay good attention in the elevator therefore the belt got stuck between the doors of the elevator when we got up. The belt was broken and the frame of the bag, the bag i could through away. The giy did not see the problem. We arrived in the hotelroom and it was a shared room. I paid for a single room. I had to come down again (with my broken bag), to wait again. Then i went up again where a woman was cleaning my room, i had to wait in the bathroom, she was ready in 5 minutes (again how clean is it then?).

That night 1 fell a sleep after 02.00 because the room was at the street and it is very loud. The next day i asked for another room. I was promided another room. In the evening nobody knew nothing and i had to stay in the same room. The next day i complained, that night i had another room. It was still on the side of the street, but higher, zo less noisy. Still noisy, but less.

When i left, the charged me 25 euro more, i refused to pay and they did not took any responsiblity for the damage on my bag.

Ik look like a big complainer now, i know, this is the first time i complained. I have been in very sleezy hotels and hostels, but i knew that up front. This is also a sleezy hotel. Now you know that up front and then is is pretty cheap and in a good area, so you don't have to complain.

p.s. they do not speak english
